Discord Channel Generator
Pick a server type and size and instantly get a well thought-out structure of categories, channels and roles. Rename, drop what you don't need and copy the result as text.

A clear channel structure decides whether new members find their way or leave right away. The channel generator is based on the 12 server templates Lizbot uses to set up real servers: from gaming communities and Minecraft servers to creator and business servers, study groups and friend groups. You see which areas only the team can see and which channels are read-only, and you can adjust everything before you create a single channel in Discord.

Build exactly this template with Lizbot
Lizbot builds "Gaming Community" on your server with one click: with role hierarchy, permissions and starter messages, in the dashboard under Server templates or right during setup. Existing channels and roles stay.
Lizbot builds the complete template. Whatever you renamed or left out here, you change the same way in the template editor in the dashboard before applying and save it as your own template.
View as text
Everything stays in your browser. Nothing is sent to Lizbot or anyone else.
How it works
Pick a server type
Choose one of the 12 templates, for example gaming, esports, roleplay or open source. Each comes with matching categories, channels and roles.
Set the size
Small has the essentials for up to 50 members, medium adds logs, media and more topics, large shows the complete template.
Adjust it
Rename channels and categories, remove what you don't need or add your own channels. If you like, every name gets a matching emoji.
Use it
Copy the structure as text for your team or let Lizbot build exactly this template with roles and permissions on your server.
Frequently asked questions
How many channels make sense for a new server?
A few active channels beat many empty ones. To start, 10 to 15 are usually enough: rules, announcements, a general chat, a few topic channels, a voice channel and a small team area. As the server grows, add areas when a topic needs its own space.
Can I use emojis in channel names?
Yes, emojis and many special characters are allowed in channel names. Discord always writes text channels in lowercase and turns spaces into hyphens, voice channels keep their capitalization. In the generator you pick a naming style for this, such as "💬・general".
How many channels and roles does Discord allow?
A server can have up to 500 channels, categories included, and a category up to 50 channels. On top of that come up to 250 roles. The templates stay far below these limits.
Can Lizbot create the structure automatically?
Yes. The templates in the generator are the same ones Lizbot builds with one click, in the dashboard under Server templates or right during setup. Lizbot creates roles, categories, channels, permissions and starter messages. The size in the generator is a recommendation: Lizbot builds the complete template, and in the template editor you rename or remove what you don't want beforehand and save the result as your own template. All 12 templates are included in the Free plan.
What happens to my existing channels and roles?
When you apply a template with "Add to existing", everything you have stays as it is: Lizbot only creates what is missing and reuses roles and channels with the same name. "Rebuild" first deletes your existing channels, except the ones Discord protects such as the rules channel, and your roles stay. This only happens after you type a confirmation word, and never without an automatic backup that is kept for 30 days. You can undo a build in the dashboard with one click, and deleted channels come back from the backup.
What do "staff only" and "read only" mean?
Areas marked "staff only" are visible only to roles with team permissions, for example the team chat and the logs. Channels marked "read only", such as rules and announcements, can be read by everyone, but only the team posts there. Lizbot sets these permissions automatically when building.
Put it on your server with Lizbot
Lizbot builds the chosen template with role hierarchy, channels, permissions and starter messages on your server in one step. What you already have stays, and one click undoes the build.
