Discord Embed Generator
Build Discord embeds with a live preview in the Discord look: title, description with Markdown, color, author, fields, images, footer and timestamp. Copy the result as JSON for webhooks or your bot.
- Completely free
- No sign-up
- Runs only in your browser
Embeds are the colored boxes bots and webhooks use to present announcements, rules, event info or welcome messages clearly. Regular user accounts cannot post them, which is why you need a generator. Here you design your embed without code, see right away how it looks in Discord, and the generator checks every Discord limit along the way: 256 characters in the title, 4096 in the description, at most 25 fields and 6000 characters in total. You are done when the check turns green.

Send with Lizbot
In the Lizbot embed builder you save the embed as a template, send it to a channel (also with /embed send) and edit sent messages later via their link. The builder has no JSON import: copy the parts over with the buttons here and paste them in.
The embed builder takes: text above the embed, title, description, color, large image, footer and up to 5 link buttons. As thumbnail it uses the server icon.
- Not available in the embed builder, so it is left out: Author, Fields.
Everything stays in your browser. Nothing is sent to Lizbot or anyone else.
How it works
Add your content
Write a title and a description. Bold, italics, lists, quotes and links work with Discord Markdown, and the buttons above the text box help you with it.
Style it
Pick a color for the side bar, then add an author, fields (side by side or stacked), a large image, a thumbnail, a footer and a timestamp.
Check it
The preview shows the embed in the Discord look. The check below flags texts that are too long, empty fields and invalid image links before Discord rejects the message.
Copy and send
Copy the JSON as a full message for a webhook or as a single embed object for your bot. With Lizbot you send it from the dashboard without any code.
Frequently asked questions
What is a Discord embed?
An embed is a message box with a colored side bar, title, description, fields, images and footer. Bots and webhooks use embeds to present information more clearly than plain text.
How do I send the embed with a webhook?
In Discord, open the channel settings, go to Integrations and Webhooks, and create a new webhook. Copy its URL and send the JSON in the "Message" format to that URL with a POST request, for example with curl or a tool like Postman. The generator itself does not send anything.
What are the limits for Discord embeds?
Title up to 256 characters, description up to 4096, at most 25 fields with 256 characters in the name and 1024 in the value, footer up to 2048 and author name up to 256 characters. All texts of one embed together must not exceed 6000 characters. The generator counts along and warns you in time.
Why is my image not showing?
Discord needs a direct, publicly reachable link to the image file that starts with https://, for example ending in .png, .jpg, .gif or .webp. Links to image galleries or files on your computer do not work.
Can I send embeds without a bot?
Yes, with a webhook. Regular user accounts cannot send embeds. A bot like Lizbot has the advantage that you can save templates, send them with a command and edit messages you already sent later on.
Is my input saved?
Only in your browser: the draft is kept locally so it is still there after a reload. Nothing is sent to Lizbot or anyone else. Images in the preview are loaded by your browser directly from the address you enter.
Put it on your server with Lizbot
With the Lizbot embed builder you design embeds in the dashboard, save them as templates, send them to any channel or with /embed send and edit sent messages later, no webhook needed.
